Featured Artist: Daniel Kharitonov, Pianist

Born in 1998 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Daniel Kharitonov began studying the piano at the age of five in Novosibirsk. After one year he became a pupil at the Central Music School of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory studying with an Honored Artist of Russia, Valery Pjasetsky. Daniel was the first prize winner at 2006 Open International Competition of pianists and piano ensembles in Memory of Rachmaninoff and 2008 International “New Names” Competition both in Moscow, and 2006 International “Mozart-Wunderkind” Competition in Vienna. Daniel performed at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Moscow Conservatory Great Hall, the Moscow International House of Music, the Armory Museum of the Kremlin, Columned Hall of the House of the Unions, and also in many cities in Russia and Europe including Volgograd, Kaluga, Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Suzdal, Tula, Ryazan, Ljubljana (Slovenia), Vigo (Spain), and Goslar (Germany). He participated at the 2007 “Portraits of the Young” Festival in Moscow, 14th “New Names” Festival in 2007 in Nizhny Novgorod and in 2008 6th Russian-Polish “Children’s Academy of Music” Festival in Moscow. Daniel likes to read very much, to compose music and adores playing football.
